@KKJ - I'm sure you've seen the posts from a couple of forum regulars who are always devastated or frantic when there's an alternate host for ITKWD, seemingly unable to fathom that David could take time off without it being a clear signal that he's leaving the Q, deathly ill, or some other theory with no basis in reality.  Smiley Wink

I think David is fine as a host, but the level of obsessive fandom exhibited by some who seem to think he must always be available and always let them know every move he makes is a bit concerning. A friend recently showed me the comments on his Facebook post about being out this week, and although most people just wished him well in his time off, some of the things people posted must have made David just shake his head and be glad to be taking a break. Yeesh.

I'm enjoying Alberti hosting alone.
I don't usually watch him.

I enjoy David's shows but no, am not obsessed with him, but when one is used to seeing any host who's on regularly then isn't it can be a shock--j/k. I must say I've never gone to any host's FB page as don't care that much what they're up to outside of Q.

Re: Reminder: Alberti hosting ITKWD on 2/12

Alberti tried to be low key, thank God.  But the stupid head gear and poems were too much to bear.   And "color ways"?    What does that mean?    At times he talked over the vendors.   The burnt meats on the grills were funny and made up for the joke that was in poor taste.

Hope it's a one and done.

I thought Alberti did a great job. He was enthusiastic without getting too hyped up, he interacted well with Rosina and all of the guests (even the Kim Gravel visit somehow didn't get too crazy!), and he showed that he is knowledgeable about food, cooking, and entertaining. The valentine poems from the production staff seemed cute to me and the guests certainly enjoyed them.

@loriqvc  I wasn't able to watch it all but what I did see I thought Alberti did well also.  I always think that Alberti does his homework ahead of time, he is pleasant with the vendors & he seems to enjoy being there. And he does have cooking & entertaining experience so that's a plus also when he's filling in for David.

I think Alberti did a fantastic job!  I like David, but Alberti more than merely stepped in as a substitute.  David can get quite stale with the same catch phrases and predictable statements.  Today's show was very refreshing.

I have no reason to think that David is retiring any time soon, but I do think they are honing Alberti to fill his shoes eventually.  He seems like a good fit for the kitchen shows.
