I keep my bread in the microwave and it never gets moldy. I hate bread in the fridge. I like my bread soft.

I recently trashed a metal bread box and bought the one shown below because I started baking my own bread. Really works quite well, as you can adjust the air vent as to how dry/moist you want to keep it, along with the size of the loaf.

In our previous houses we had deep kitchen drawers designed for this. When we moved here I wanted a countertop one and looked and looked for one. I finally found one - believe it or not - at CVS! It was during the holidays in their gift section. I think I got it for $9.99. It's plain, light wood, but has a roll top (almost like a desk). It still looks great, even though I thought it might fall apart after a few years. I keep my bread and any rolls in there, and I always have some bread in the freezer in case we run out. I won't keep bread in the refrigerator. Smile

I have one of the clear plastic things but the dog would consider that a big green light.

I remember having a bread box years ago but since I have been living with my daughter we don't have one. I am going to invest in one because my daughter has loaves on the counter and it looks so messy.
