There was an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond in which Ray’s mother would not share her recipes with Ray’s wife.

One of my mother's great-aunts was a renowned Italian cook. On her deathbed, she instructed her family members "burn my recipes". As far as we know, they did because those recipes never made their way into any of our possession.
