Red Velvet Cake For Wedding Cake

My son and his fiancé want a small family wedding getting married in the church and the reception at my her mothers house but will only be very small. I know they both love Red Velvet Cake and I will be purchasing the cake for them. My question is if they frost the cake with the cream cheese frosting how do they make the flowers to put on the cake? Would they be made out of cream cheese also? I haven't had a chance to go to the local bakeries yet to ask but I was just wondering. I don't even know if they would even make a 2 layer red velvet cake and decorate more wedding like.I can always count on this forum for answers. TIA
