Just wondering.... Is it only the TT that crack? QVC has sold Rachel Ray, Technique, and other China made stoneware. Do any of these have any problems? I looked and RR stone cookware has very good reviews.

I have TT and RR stoneware. RR's is by far better quality! TT got to be too disappointing to order. I kept getting orders in terrible shape and it's a pain to return. Most of mine were so bad I didn't have to pay shipping but it's heavy and its a pain. Everything I have gotten from RR's line has been absolutely impeccable! I have her big set with the swing lid, loaf pans and a square pan.

I do wonder though with all the complaints about TT how qvc can continue selling them. I feel as though RR is hardly on and her line has hardly expanded but there is Tara every Sunday with more Old World! {#emotions_dlg.glare}

There are a few other lines of excellent quality bake/table ware on QVC that, actually do what they claim without chipping, cracking, or smashing. I think sometimes people get caught up in quantity rather than quality and, forget that, you get what you pay for. I have tried Lydia from QVC and they are wonderful. I got them over a year ago on clearance and could not be happier. They are beautiful and I use them all the time. RR has a TSV coming up that looks beautiful also. I have not tried her product yet but, it has to be better than TT. I think as long as people keep buying TT QVC will keep selling this line of throw away bake/table ware. If everyone who was displeased with even one item in a set and returned it, having the Q pay for return shipping, maybe then the Q would sit up and take notice.

I have both Lidia and RR bakeware and RR cookware.

It is ALL superior to TT, in my experience.

The Sentinel! Suzy, you're so classy. I was thinking more of Paulie Walnuts in the Sopranos. The Enforcer-type.

I didn't see your original post, but I'm sorry that you had trouble with your dish failing. It is not uncommon to see and hear such things, as there are a couple of Facebook pages dedicated to the love (and frustration) of owning/using Temp-tations.

If you contact Temp-tations directly (use their 800 number, not the email option, as they rarely respond to email) they will replace the item, usually just for the shipping cost.

Sorry your post was removed, but there is a particular poster on here that tends to make that happen when people are being critical (and justifiably so if you dishes are cracking and breaking with normal use) of this product line. You'd think she had stock in the company or something the way she defends the product line. Perhaps that is how it was removed.

Why should a customer have to pay the shipping cost for a defective item? That makes absolutely no sense to me.

Personally, if I had something crack in the oven, the last thing I would want would be a replacement even if it was 100% free. No way in a million years would I pay shipping.

Kiss

NYC Susan, this is what I have been asking about for a long time!! You see these types of posts about getting replacements all the time?? If I had one piece that cracked or broke like some of the posters have claimed, I would throw whatever I had in the garbage, not get a replacement!!

Why should a person who spent their money on a product not ask for a replacement if that product is guaranteed????? I'm sure the makers of TT would love not having to replace this junk but, they should AND they should pay for S&H. Who should pay the price for an inferior product, if not the makers.
I am sure there have been thousands and thousands of broken pieces just thrown away because people are just too busy to package it up and bring it to the post office. And on top of that who wants to pay more to ship it back than its worth. Insane!!!

NYwoman, no, all ceramic bake ware crack.crazed, etc. TT, RR, even the beloved Fiesta, all of them. Pyrex & Corning Ware also break.

If another product is so much better then I would say..great! go buy it and enjoy! And again, if you look at the numbers percentage wise, there is a very small amount of breakage, etc. It looks like there are more complaints than actually there is since only a handful of complaints have been made, the rest of the posts are the same complaints about the same crack/break, just telling it over & over and one likes to embellish the more times she posts! Then there are the ones that have NEVER even bought TT that come here & complain...go figure!!

NYwoman, I have Lidia's stoneware from QVC. Last year I bought a set 3 bake dishes. I use them all the time. They cook beautiful and wash like a dream. NO chips, crazing or cracks and no exploding in the oven. I wish QVC would carry more of this line. They are beautiful and very well made.

I came close to trying TT but after reading the thousands of negative reviews I decided that I would go for a high quality product. I feel most people, like myself don't bother posting a bad review about a product. I think most people just move on. So I figure for every one bad review there are probably 100 unhappy customers.

This is why I love the reviews on QVC about products. I don't have to make the mistake of buying a product when others are telling horror stories about them. I have to say I think TT has some pretty items BUT if I can't use them for what they are intended for what's the point of buying them.

RJL, you are so right about the Lydia bakeware. I have several sets that I got at Q. These were less expensive than the TT sets (although no baskets, trivets, or lids) and although made in China as well, as so much better quality. I can't say enough about how great they perform and look like new after many uses. I wish Q would bring this line back, but my guess is they could never get that quality at a decent price again, so won't be able to do so.

There is a 3 pc set of Lydia on as is right now for $30. I just got it in brown (which has sold out, but three other colors available) and the imperfections were so very slight that it is still better looking than many first run TT sets I receive. These pieces just have a more substantial feel to them.

Re: Recent Temp-tations Post

Don't be surprised if threads and replies are poofed again.

The Temptations Clearance Sale thread was poofed ....Our friend voyager was also on that thread and read my reply, and agreed with what I said, and that entire thread has vanished...sound familiar? You bet it does.

Earlier today on the Temptations sale clearance thread she had the audacity to give me her "advise" incorrectly spelled of course, as it should be advice.

Her "advise" was to tell me to let it go as far as my Temptations defect product dangerous experience I posted about on that thread.

What I found most amusing was she had the impudence to give me her "advise," unqualified non professional medical diagnosis about my elevated blood pressure, resulting from my disappointment and anger echoed in my reply, regarding temptations which is complete rubbish. My BP is within normal range for my age.

In any event none of my posts, replies or internet communications ever echoed feeling anything but shocked and highly concerned that these defects and dangerous accidents occurred, not only to myself and my guests, but to others on these Community bb's as well.

I was neither disappointed nor angry when my large casserole baker cracked in 1/2 while I was removing it from the hot oven to serve to my guests, and the 2 Temptations serving items cracked while holding refrigerated salads at different gatherings while being passed around the table to guests.

What I felt was consumer shock and relief that neither I, nor any of my guests were burned, or suffered any other injuries from what occurred with utilizing these highly defective Temptations bake ware and serving bowls.

I just did a search using Community and the word Temptations and low and behold the Temptations clearance sale thread is gone......but plenty of other threads about defects, junk ware, and the like are still there. Enough to prove the truth does prevail and will continue to prevail.

Also duly noted is shoddy workmanship, unacceptable paint jobs, and chips in items received. This all need to be addressed by the vendor, and then safeguards implemented to bring the words consumer safety, and product quality back into focus.

I told her in my reply that other members also know why our truthful posts about defective dangerous Temptations experiences are being poofed, and we did not need Einstein to know there is indeed a hidden agenda.

That hidden agenda is very evident to any QVC member who disagrees, or posts their negative Temptations experiences.

Like others many wonder with all her continuous challenging, arguing, belittling, defending, minimizing the severity, intimating we all lied about our Temptations defective product experiences and the like.....one question to date still remains unanswered by her which is " just what is her hidden stake and agenda in all of this?".

She ignores consumer safety as though what happened to our defective pieces which caused accidents does not matter at all. There is not one shred of compassion in her posted replies to anyone who had dangerous encounters with the Temptations line.

She eludes replying to us, and continues her merry way.

All she is doing by poofing, or having our threads and replies removed, is calling additional attention to herself, and also adding fuel to the fire, but evidently her ignorance is bliss.

Let her continue to belittle, humiliate, state we are liars, post personal innuendos, make ridiculous untrue assumptions, and dole out unlicensed medical diagnosis to me. The more the merrier, because she is shooting herself in the foot with her own ignorance, and is sabotaging herself by calling attention to her personal agenda time, and time again.

I always call a spade a spade, and never back down when it comes to consumer safety, because consumer safety should rise above profitability, and that is something she will never care about at all.

I also feel everyone should know the real truth of what may happen and has happened to many of us who bought and used various products from the Temptations line, and had dangerous accidents occur to ourselves and others.

The truth shall prevail, because "truth = knowledge, and knowledge = consumer purchase power.

Re: Recent Temp-tations Post

From what I have heard from many who bought these at one time you have to use these with extreme caution. They seem to be very fragile and lightweight. They can break in half while being removed from a hot oven, which can injure someone. Many, if you read the reviews have had issues with cracking, chipping, crazing and as I said breaking in half. I, personally would NOT use these for cooking, as I would be afraid of being injured.

There were products HERE ON QVC that were so much better (as you say).

They were Lidia Bastianich and the original Polish stoneware.

Yes, they cost more that TT - but they are far superior in quality.

I enjoy shopping at QVC - and want those choices (or something similar) to be offered to us. We now only have Rachael Ray and the new, limited line of Polish stoneware - I wish we had more choices!!!!

I actually wish QVC would partner with Homer Laughlin in the future, instead of insulting their products (and our intelligence).
