Really Silly Baking Question

In the past, whenever I attempted to make a recipe of a bread dough that required kneading, I did it by hand, and it was always an epic fail. My question is, now that I have the dough hook on my Kitchenaide mixer, how do I know if the dough has been kneaded enough?

Trust me, I love to bake, and feel really dumb when it comes to this type of baking!
