There was a convertible domed cake stand which turned over to make a veggie and dip set. It was wonderfully ingenious; however, the pedestal portion would often stick when one tried to lift the cake plate and fall over and crack; or would not hold in place and fall as a result of that. I don't know if this was why the piece was discontinued. My dip bowl/pedestal portion broke that way, and in trying to replace it, learned that this was a problem for many customers.
Perhaps the perfect solution might be to re-issue this wonderful idea with the dip bowl attached to the cake plate instead of removable. It would be a little more difficult to wash but still an excellent product.
If the dome portion was wide enough to accommodate the bundt cake produced by the fluted bundt cake it would be perfection!
This was one of my favorite Temp-tations pieces and would love to see it come back.

I have several of these, and your suggestion is wonderful. I had the pedestal fall out when I was carrying a cake to the table. It hit the floor and shattered, because the silicone seal that was to hold it in place didn't hold it in tight enough. I called TT customer service and was able to get a replacement, so if you haven't tried to yet, it might be available yet.

MerryBlueEyes, thanks for letting everyone know about the cake/dome stand! I never ordered one just because the reasons you gave, I wondered about the cake tipping over but never thought of the pedestal sticking & falling over.
Have you been to Tara's FaceBook page & posted your concerns there? You will probably get better responses there since I am sure Tara or one of her employee's reads the remarks on FB but not here. HTH.

Thanks, but I did call customer service and they did not have anymore. The woman was very nice but she said that they had run out since hundreds of people had this problem. If only I could get that pedestal back! I need the Old World Blue, but there is none left.

The cake was always secure, but the pedestal itself shattered when it fell out as I lifted the cake plate. I don't have a Facebook account and hesitate to get one since there are so many viruses to get on your computer on it. However, if anyone who does do Facebook would put it there, I'd appreciate it. I really think this could easily be re-done with the pedestal part of the stand itself. Flipping it over to have a veggie and dip plate is such a great idea!

I understand about FB. I am not a big fan of it but lots of people are. Another route would be to try ebay?? I know there are lots of TT being sold there and have seen the TT cake stands for sale, only problem would be having to buy the entire thing and not just the pedestal and usually TT goes at a higher price than what the Q sells them for. Good luck!!
