Question re sourdough starter

I received some packets of sourdough starter as a gift from a friend who just returned from a trip to San Francisco. I bought some in SF a few years ago, used it, and everything went well. However, I'm older now and I can't remember what size jar I used to keep it in.

The instructions say widemouth glass jar with a glass or plastic lid (obviously nothing metal). I remember that it "grew" quite a lot, but I have no idea what size jar to get. Everything I have is definitely too small, so I'll have to go out to buy one.

Does anyone have any idea how large the jar should be? Thanks in advance! {#emotions_dlg.sleep}
