Question on use of TSV Vita Mix?

Hi everyone - I bought the TSV and had been dreaming about it for 20 years - I have tried several soups and all have ended up down the drain because thy tasted like FOAM! Peanut butter worked for my husband but I am afraid to keep such an expensive machine if I cannot work it right for many things. Anyone have any ideas as to whatI am doing wrong? It has 3 more weeks till return. Thanks so much in advance for any advise. Linda
