Question for Publix shoppers

Does the butcher at yours cut meat at your request? I went to one Publix store last week, and they were extremely gracious and accommodating - I wanted to buy a pork loin, but they were too big and they said they'd cut as big or as small a piece as I'd like and told me to never hesitate to make a special request.

Well, it was so good that I went to the Publix nearer my home for more earlier today. The packages were large, so I asked the butcher to please cut off a piece for me and slice it; he refused. He wasn't busy - I was the only customer.

The manager wasn't available, but I did complain to someone else who said he'd pass my comments on to the manager. I'm just wondering which store is more representative of the Publix policy.
