Question about the chicken n dumpling casserole

Recently I saw a receipe on here for chicken and dumpling casserole. The poster said to be sure not to stir as the ingredients were added. It called for a half stick of butter. Well, my butter comes in two different sizes of sticks depending on which package I pick up. So, can the original poster tell me how many ozs of butter is needed?

I can't find the original post and am sorry to say that I haven't tried it yet. I just didn't want to take a chance on ruining it with too much butter.
