I found a recipe for champagne cupcakes and I was wondering if you can substitute something like flavored soda in place of the champagne and would it affect the taste? I'm thinking that the reason for using champagne is because of the effervecence of the champagne, but since it's so expensive, I'm wondering if there's an alternative.
