I think it's a very important bit of info to provide.   I find that if I eat shrimp, for example, that comes from SE Asia I get a weird reaction with my throat itching and kind of closing up.

When I first noticed that I had purchased a frozen bag of shrimp from the grocery store.   Well, I didn't want to just throw a big ol' bag of shrimp away so the next time I tried to make a serving I just rinsed the heck out of it and that helped some.

I think it's pretty important, especially with food items, to know the source.

I believe the reason QVC got rid of Chesapeake Bay crab people was because they were posting scads of fake reviews.  I don't remember anything about their product coming from China.  I had one batch from them, flavor was good, but product had very little crabmeat.

The two owners were Ron and Margue Kauffman not sure if they are still alive today.  Originally they used authentic Maryland crab and a homemade secret family recipe.  I seem to remember QVC discovering them on the 50/50 tour.  Somewhere along the line they shifted to cheaper Asian crab.  When an order arrived smelling like amonnia I was done, then negative reviews started popping up. I was not alone.  I for one would rather pay more money for the expensive Maryland crab than something that comes from the dirty waters of China.  The Kauffmans wound up selling their business I believe after QVC dumped them.
