Re: Q Card - Worthwhile & Safe?

What I like the Q Card for is just simply to keep track of my QVC purchases.  I only have a card because, some 18 years ago, they sent me one.  I pay it off every month, of course because as we know 'store cards' always have mega-high interest.

But for something to just keep track of purchases from a given retailer it's very useful.  Years ago I did keep a balanace, when I was buying a lot more.  But for the last 15 years I don't.

I do the same thing with Amazon (well, except that I get 5% back for all my Amazon purchases on their card).   I run a few little other things on it, like Netflix and such, but over all I can know how much I spent in a given month at Amazon. That's where I spend a lot more, but I keep that one paid off, also.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.  I don't have a Q card, but all I have to do is click on "my orders" when I'm signed in, and I can see all of my QVC orders .  If I want a total for the month, I can certainly add a few numbers.  i don't mean to be snarky; I just can't figure out what you're referring to.

Re: Q Card - Worthwhile & Safe?

I have a QCard, an Evine Card and CareCredit which are all through Synchrony Bank and I've never had an issue at all.

I pay close attention to all my purchases and returns though.  There was an instance where a return was processed and the next day the next easypay hit so I had to call back to get the proper credit.

The interest rate on any "store" card is horrible but I make sure to pay mine every month.  I make sure I don't go overboard so that paying in full becomes an issue.

The Q card is managed by Synchrony Bank which just skirts the law between ethical and not.  I had a card with Evine which they also handle and in 3 months they made a total mess of my account.  I cut the card up and would not consider using the account again.   The interest rate is atrocious.

I've had many 'interest free if paid in full monthly' and 'no interest for 12 months' type cards from retailers that use Synchrony, and I've never had one single problem.

I've purchased appliances, home improvements, eyeglasses, and things from Q, all without a single issue, and all without a dime in interest paid.

You do have to have the discipline to pay that balance each month on the Q card because the interest is really high, but I love keeping my Q purchases separate from my regular VISA card. It really allows me to see just how much I'm spending here and reign it in when I need/want to.

Re: Q Card - Worthwhile & Safe?

I have never had a problem with my Q card, just make sure to pay bill off every month. Also I ordered the Dyna Trap, was supposed to get a $10 e card, didn't get it. At least thats what hubby said I was supposed to get. Your choice. Good luck.

@WORKING GAL

There are now a few perks that did not exist when I had mine.  Discontinued it, because at one point I needed to talk to the card folks and it was like trying to get through to the Kremlin.  Things may have changed since then.

If you don't NEED it, don't get it, would be my advice.
