Pumpkin butter?

[ Edited ]

For those of you good at making flavored butter, how do you do this one? Anything besides just mixing some pumpkin and real butter? How much of each? Thanks.

I did find two older ones in here from years past. Looking for newer ones too. Not listed yet.

I have never made any. Here is a recipe with step by step instructions. I use this site all the time. It has so much info.

It is not  pumpkin and butter. I made some, baked a pumpkin, pureed it, added spices and sugar. Cooked it for a long time. It was good, but I probably won't make it again. Too much trouble.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve. Traditional pumpkin butter as most people think of it is like apple butter. But there is a restaurant I frequent, a "home cooking" type of place, that serves their freshly made biscuits with "apple butter" that is soft whipped butter with apple (pie filling, applesauce, and/or seasoning?) mixed in. It is essentially apple-flavored butter. Not nearly as intense as apple butter.  So you could do that if you wanted apple-flavored butter. Would depend on preference.

That's cool! I've got it saved, I'll have to go see what else they have too. Thanks.

Thank you ladies. It does look like more than I thought it might be though. Interesting site though.

Did you see the blog from Jill Bauer called "Slow Cooker Pumpkin Butter - How to Put Fall in a Bottle...Well, Jar!"

It was posted a few weeks ago, 9/22, and it sounds easy and delicious.

I did SusieQ and copied and laminated it, so I'd have it. Thanks so much.

I mentioned this in another post a little while ago, but maybe it should be here.

Saw jars of Maple Pumpkin Butter at Costco today for $6.99.
