Re: Pretty Little SMEG Fridge

It reminds me a little of the Servel gas fridge my mom had when I was a kid, though it was white & not pink.  It went well with the fancy white O'Keefe & Merritt gas range she had. That thing was built like a tank!

Re: Pretty Little SMEG Fridge

So cute but so impractical for today's families. Love the entire kitchen, reminds me of happy childhood days. My favorite thing in that kitchen?  The white radiator!  Steam heat is the best heating method for homes; very even heating in all rooms and very clean. I grew up with steam heat (our 1920's coal furnace had been converted to hot water heat in 40's), and there is nothing like it. I've missed radiator heat ever since I got married and moved out of our family home in 1968.  😉

I live in a condo, have pink marble wallpaper in the kitchen, but no way am I leaving an appliance that expensive for the next owner (we have to leave the appliances since the units came with appliances in place).  But it's very cute.

I like it. Even in pink.  It looks like the hundred year old fridge we got at a yord sale for the summer camp.  That thing is built like a tank.  I'll Bet it runs for a 'nuther hundred years. If the quality of this is compairble It'd be worth the money.

Love the kitty but they're gonna lose that chicken or the flower pot when he tries to get down.

I don't love pink, but it's very cute!   Not sure it w/b that practical, except maybe for an extra.    The light shade is good.  I also like the chicken.

I do remember when refrigerators were smaller like that, with the little freezer door inside.

@chickenbutt   I remember those old refrigerators.  My grandmother's fridge was about the size of the pink one, maybe a little bigger.  One big door with the freezer inside with enough room for a couple of stainless steel ice trays and not more more.  I think it was a Frigidaire.  Anyway she never said the word refrigerator, she always said Frigidaire.

@KatieB

Love it!  It also looks more custom with the "kitty cat" touch.  Heart

The little we can see of the kitchen, it has a cute, cottage appearance.

Thanks for sharing.

I know I'm not stupid, but I don't understand what is so special about SMEG appliances??  Are they supposed to be better than any other because they are so expensive?

@Patriot3    I can't answer that quetion for you because I don't know.  They look old fashioned to me because they're more rounded than other appliances seem to be.  I don't own any SMEG appliance and never will.  I just posted the picture because I thought it was a cute little kitchen.
