Power XL Pressure Cooker question

The 8 qt is priced very well today -- goodness knows I don't really NEED another pressure cooker, however, none of my brown all that well.  They don't get hot quick to sear the meat it ends up juicing and boiling.  Does anyone have this that can tell me how well it browns/sears?

Are you adjusting your saute function to high?  That is usually accomplished by pressing the saute control twice.  After the pot is hot, you then add oil, and then add your meat.

All of the ones I currently have are Cook's Essentials/Techniques and all they have is a brown button.

To poster reply - - 'after pot is hot....add oil'.   Just concerned about being burned and/or fire hazard.  I've done that and it was dangerous and scared the h**l out of me.  Recommended that you warm the pot slowly and put oil in pot prior to it getting hot.

@fthuntthat is exactly what I do.  It's not that I don't know how to brown/sear meat I'm just wondering about this particular cooker.  Mine do not maintain a steady high heat they cycle and don't allow a good sear.

@In-x-s  I don't have the 8qt but have the 6qt.  My only issue is that it takes 25 min to come to pressure.  The Cooks Essential that I had before only took 10-15 min.

ETA browns great

LOL!  well now what to do??  I wish I could find the one ideal appliance that just does it all and does it well.  I've struggled back and forth with getting a Ninja cooker but it's not a pressure cooker.  The pressure cookers I have are not good at browning.   What to do - what to do!

thanks for the helpful responses so far.

@In-x-s, Brown is the same as saute.

Most recipes call for a small amount of oil.  Just hold your measuring spoon up higher and poor it in along the side of the inner pot.  The pot is so deep that it's not going to splatter out of the pot.  It's not a burn or fire hazard.  Read any knowledgeable source, and they will tell you that for things to sear and NOT stick, you have to add cold oil to a hot pot.

@AinhisgI do thank you for all the tips on browning, but my question really is about this particular appliance.
