Power XL Dual Basket 10 QT Airfryer Recall

Did anyone else get the email re: this recall. The 2 baskets can be expanded by using a bracket that attaches to the baskets, after removing the long sides. Over 40 owners of the air fryer have burned themselves. I have used the bracket but not when the unit is hot. If I need a bigger space to air fry large piece of meat or lots of shrimp, I do it before turning it on. Not giving up my air fryer. I love it. No danger of a fire. I'll use it til it dies.

Re: Power XL Dual Basket 10 QT Airfryer Recall

About 6 years ago, I had a Power XL air fryer that died after 9 months.  I bought another one (silly me); it died after 11 months.

Then about two years ago, I had the Power XL vacuum sealer.  It was a piece of junk -- never worked --  and I got a full refund since 95% of the reviews reported it defective.

I will never again purchase Power XL anything.

Re: Power XL Dual Basket 10 QT Airfryer Recall

I bought the Power XL Dual Basket 10 last June (I think) and got that recall notice. I've never used the plastic thingy that's prompting the recall so I'm ignoring the recall. I'm not even filing for the refund as it was a good deal when I bought it ($79 I think) and it's working fine. It's not like it catches fire or is dangerous other than possibly giving you a burn if you touch the hot parts. I'll just keep using it. I've gotten my money's worth already. I'd feel guilty using it after getting the refund and since the issue doesn't impact me, I'll just keep using it and ignore the recall/refund. It was a good deal and does a good job. The plastic thing breaking was an issue when I bought it as I saw that in some of the reviews. I didn't care then and I don't care now.

Seems dumb to have a recall on something because people are getting burned on the hot parts !  Isn't that just common sense that if you touch something hot you will get burned ? I don't get it .

No, I had one of those POWER XL's with 2 baskets air fryers, but it didn't last too long.  It stopped working while I was cooking something.

I won't be buying this brand again.

 I didn't get an e-mail.  I bought mine at Sam's Club.

My feelings too. Keeping it til it's dead.

Re: Power XL Dual Basket 10 QT Airfryer Recall

The plastic connector breaking was a known issue when I bought mine last June. People were complaining that they couldn't get a replacement piece as they were sold out. It was the number one negative people posted about in their reviews of the product. I decided I'd probably only use the full-size joined basket maybe once or twice a year and I'd just be extra careful doing so. So far, so good. Mine has been fine so far. It cooks a little slower than my old air fryer, but it does a good job overall. Probably ninety percent of the reviews back then were four or five-star, and the only real negative reviews were from people who'd broken the connector and couldn't get a replacement connector. Everyone else loved it. I'd give it four or five stars. It's been a good air fryer, and I use it almost every day.
