My Potato Salad making skills have always been hit or miss over the years. I made some a couple of weeks ago with some left over potatoes. It turned out well so I decided I would make some for this weekend when we have a friend visiting for a few days. He will arrive later in the evening and I'm making ham, potato salad, and yeast rolls.

The potatoes that I used were boiled whole with the skin on. That's how my mom always cooked her potatoes for her potato salad. My step mother in law stews her potatoes for her potato salad. This makes a potato salad that's more like chunky mashed potatoes with potaoe salad ingredients.

How do you prepare and/or cook your potatoes for Potato Salad?

I already know what I'm putting in the potato salad. Just wondering how everyone cooks the potatoes first.
