@SilleeMee On your saying you did not own a convection oven, my double oven set, either works conventional or convection. I heard you had to have a convection oven because it cooks such lovely cakes. I tried and the cakes were sort of dry. I then read the instruction book and it said that it was not recommended for cakes. What do I need that for now that I have paid a high price for it because my husband just felt like that was what I needed when we were remodeling the kitchen. Another thing he loves and I don't need. I would prefer one big fat oven that cooked like my mother's.

@Kachina624 wrote:@ECBG I prepare sizable batches in my 6qt PC, then eat leftovers several days or freeze some of it. The process of infusing pressure makes seasoned foods taste so much better, meat more tender, even cheap cuts.
@Kachina624 @ECBG Even though we are retired we are in love with appliances that we can walk away from and the food cooks, stays warm for awhile, and is ready when we are ready.
Into that category are: Rice cookers; Instant Pots (and we have two inner pots and LIDS, which means the food can stay in them, cool and go in the fridge!; the new Vitamix that makes the smoothie and then stops on its own when it is done (while we clean up the kitchen!); and an automatic tea maker I got for Christmas four years ago (it heats the water to a specific temp, lowers the basket of tea and then raises it up at a specified time--hubby was like "You want WHAT?" but he's in love with it too now).
So with us, it's about not having to be on point for timing things. I think we were sick of meetings all day at work and the luxury element to us is these things make food and drink but we don't have to jump and run the minute it is done!
Everyone has a different idea of what luxury is I guess! ![]()

@Sooner Somewhere along the line, I got good and sick and tired of cooking. I love an appliance that will assume that responsibility with minimal effort from me.

Never had a Kitchen Aid mixer. Just too big and bulky to have sitting out on countertop.

Dishwasher - I've had a couple of portables with wheels that you roll up to you kitchen sink, attach a hose and let it rip. I've never had a built in, don't miss it, will never put one into my kitchen. I've never lived in a house having one either. Growing up, my sisters and I were the dishwashers. Grown up now, I'm the dishwasher, there are only two of us, always been this way.
DO I miss not having a dishwasher? No.

A pressure Cooker, and a Bread Machine and Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer, although I really want one, but don't really bake enough to warrant the expense!!!!!

Toaster Oven (kind of pointless to me)
Pressure Cooker/Instant Pot (I was scared of pressure cookers when growing up (thanks mom) so I've never had the desire to get one
KitchenAid Stand Mixer (I'm not a baker)
Any of those Foodi Ninja combo things (no need for one)
I do have a Food Processor but only use it once or twice a year.
