White Castle burgers are just nasty. So are Sonic's burgers, but their onion rings & shakes are great!

I haven't tried picked eggs, either. They just aren't something I've encountered a lot here in the south. But I love pickles and pickled foods, so I'd probably enjoy them.
Pickled eggs are popular where I live. I guess they're one of the PA Dutch foods. They may be an acquired taste.
If you want to try them, hard boil some eggs and purchase a small jar of pickled red beets. Add a little sugar and apple vinegar (to taste) to the beets. Put 1/2 dozen (more or less) peeled eggs in the beet juice and let them stand for several hours so the flavors can intermingle. Enjoy.

I grew up in a household where trying a different food wasn't to be feared but something to get excited about. My parents were adventurous eaters and we had a rule regarding food where we had to give everything one chance and take one bit.
It seems to me today that American parents start kids off with bad habits about food right away. In restaurants most kids menus are filled with rather unhealthy foods such as processed chicken nugget and macaroni and cheese. When I was younger, we ate what the adults ate such as fish, shellfish, risotto, calamari, etc... I NEVER had a chicken nugget as a child and to this day I have never had a Big Mac, Whopper or Chicken McNugget. Personally I find chicken McNuggets more revolting than eating liver or other innards. It is made from the lips and a $ $ of the chicken and if people saw a video of how they were made, they would never eat them. I have had sushi, hearts, brains, caviar, and lots of other foods considered "gross" and I think Chicken McNuggets are hands down more disgusting than any of those. IN my family it was considered very rude and low class to see someone eating something that might be considered unusual and to make a derogatory comment about it like "gross" or "EWWW".

Vegetarian here so there are a lot of things I haven't eaten. Also HATE eggs. Just found out Harper Lee also didn't care for eggs. Don't know why I threw that in!

I've never had a chicken nugget, White Castle, Taco Bell - a lot of junk food.
I've never tried herring or pickled anything either.
I've never tried duck or rabbit or venison.
