💰Please share your money saving grocery tips.

               💰

With the cost of groceries climbing by the day, I thought it might be a good idea to share our money saving tips.

This isn't original, but more than ever I don't waste anything. I try to repurpose leftovers and store my produce with plenty of paper towels so it lasts longer. That's all I've got.

Aldi (better prices than Walmart)

Costco

Target (if you have their red card 5% off purchases)

I've been buying store brands often in place of the national brands and trying to plan weekly menu on store weekly specials whenever possible.

I also buy on amazonsmile 'cause that's usually cheaper.  The drawback on that is sometimes must buy five of something instead of one.

I buy some things I know I will use in bulk from Amazon.  Especially paper goods.

Avoid extra trips to the store, gas is expensive.

I won't skimp at the grocery store.  I like Duke's mayo and another brand may be on sale, but I will get Dukes!

I'll save in other areas, not groceries!  And don't forget some treats for yourself and family.  You don't want to feel deprived!!!

We bought a freezer ( plus old frig) in garage.  We live rural so we wanted to maximize infrequent trips to Costco.  We also have a Sams membership and order case lots of canned goods and bulk items (t.p., paper plates etc) online for FREE DELIVERY for Plus Members ( that alone makes this membership pay for itself).  Make double portion casseroles and serve them later in the week. Buy bathroom essentials (  favorite shampoos) in bulk from Amazon. Eat out once a week or less. Buy generic or house brands at grocery. This isn't groceries but I've become very good at giving DH (and he gives my long straight hair an occasional trim with a hair cut template from Amazon). This has saved us several thousand dollars over last three years.  Use Gas Buddy in order to always get best gas price.

The same way I've been shopping for decades. Stock up on sale items. Shop at more than one store. Use the digital coupons from my favorite stores. Been using my Foodsaver since 2000.

Look for in store specials. My store recently had a in store special,

chicken wings for 49¢ a pound and bone in chicken breasts for 99¢ a pound. I stocked up and filled my freezer.

Re: 💰Please share your money saving grocery tips.

queen of leftovers here.  i throw away next to nothing.  depending upon what is left over, it could go into my "soup" container in the freezer for ministrone soup.

sometimes little bits of eggs ect, make into dog food additive, instead of using canned food. (small pampered pooches lol)

i do the same thing when butchering chickens. parts that wont be eaten, go into the broth container in the freezer.  meaty leftover bones, same thing. broth. lots of uses for broth. put them in my instapot. easy.

stale bread can be made into bread pudding, french toast,  or stuffing for a side dish.

odds and ends veggies, are made into a stir fry, or added to ramen.  i don't need to have breakfast items for breakfast. been known to have leftover zucchini with onions and eggs. yum.  since i live in the country with very limited shopping choices, i stock up on ad items.
