Re: Pioneer Woman Luster Glass

@Q4u

You can order online from Walmart and have it shipped to you in two days... sometimes it takes a couple of days longer, I don't know why, they usually say two days.

Just make sure that when you check out you click on "Shipping" NOT "Pickup".  It's on the upper left side of the page.  There are a few things that say "Store only."  They won't ship, I have no idea why.  Any order more than $35 ships for free.  If I don't order that much, I just add on paper towels or TP, something like that to bring it up to $35.

I hope your house sells fast and you get a great offer Smiley Happy

@hopi

I have my grandmother's collection of Carnival Glass, they are not the same:

"Carnival glass is older than Depression glass. ... Iridescent Depression glass was produced the same way with one major difference: Depression glass was made entirely by machine while each piece of Carnival glass was sprayed and finished by hand."

If you haven’t already visited, she has a store called The Mercantile in Pawhuska, OK. There are also free tours where she tape her show. The Mercantile is a fun place to visit and shop. @Noel7

I would love to go to the Mercantile @OKPrincess  To shop AND to eat Woman LOL

But I'm in San Francisco and she's far away.  I did order a couple of her things from the Mercantile.  She makes nice items, imo.

Thank you very much for your kind thoughts.... Woman Happy

Thanks also for the WalMart tips.... we have a shipping problem, especially on bigger items if they won't fit in our mail box, they'll be left on our porch and we don't live there and don't feel comfortable having them left until we come to check on the house.  But yes, it would have been more convenient and I already had the "Barn Cookie Jar" in my shopping  cart to bring the total to $35.... btw, the cooker was only about $26... !

I can see a future with more of her items in my kitchen.... Woman Wink

My mother has a purple Carnival glass pitcher of my grandma’s and I have my great grandma’s pink depression glass dishes.  I had no idea they were one in the same.  Aren’t they made completely different? They look completely different. One clear and the other swirled glass.

@GSPgirl

You are correct, they are made very differently. There are numerous articles online that go into the differences and explain them.  They are not one and the same.

Here is a good article to look into:

What is Carnival Glass and how does it differ from Depression Glass?

Re: Pioneer Woman Luster Glass

Family experience with Carnival Glass and Depression Glass:

My mother's mother used to get Carnival glass at carnivals... which is why it was called that.  I have the amber pieces she chose.

My mother got pieces of Depression glass out of boxes of soap, one would come inside of each box.

I just looked and found an article which goes into marketing Depression Glass:

@OKPrincess@Noel7, I've bought several things from her Mercantile shop online. They have so many unique items and the shipping is extremely reasonable.  Took only 2 days to get my order delivered to NY and the shipping charge was only $3.00!

Re: Pioneer Woman Luster Glass

My Mother gave me quite a few pieces of Blue Bubble that she collected from soap boxes.  They were made by Anchor Hocking and Ioved them so much I amassed a great deal of it in Blue, Pink, Red and Green!   I decided to sell the collection and found they are only worth a fraction of what they were around 98 - 03..... but I still love them and packed them away... Woman LOL
