Re: Perfect Cooker Recipes tried

To MKR - NY..........where did you get or find the recipe for the French bread?  I just looked in the recipe that came with the cooker but didn't see a recipe there.

I made hard boiled eggs in the cooker for 25 minutes. They were perfectly cooked. I am pleased with that recipe. It stated 20 minutes for soft boiled. This was not in the recipe booklet.

The french bread was one a poster on this forum posted. Pop open the bread and roll it into a ball. Spray the inside of the cooker with Pam. I cooked mine for 40-50 minutes and turned over and cooked another 20 minutes. The top has to set up before you turn it. Make sure it is not real sticky. When you turn it the bottom will be  a nice light brown. When done, I let it set another 10 minutes in the cooker as the one who posted it suggested. When done  I took it out and flipped it onto a small plate and buttered the top of mine. It was cooked perfect.

Re: Perfect Cooker Recipes tried

@MKR14, do you think making the bread pudding into patties and lightly frying would fix the texture or at least make it more to your liking?  Just a thought.  I know that works with stuffing that is a bit too moist.

Re: Perfect Cooker Recipes tried

I still think the Pillsbury refrigerated French bread dough works the best. I tried the frozen bread dough but could only find the 16oz loaves so had to cut off some because was afraid 16oz too much for machine to handle. I did not like it as well as using the French Bread dough. Thanks for the tip about brushing a little butter on top when it comes out.

I made individual pizza's yesterday using the the Pillsbury Refrigerated thin crust dough. I got five mini pizzas out of one can. To be honest don't know if I would bother making them again. Took a total of more then three hours to do all of them. Sprayed pan with Pam butter spray and dropped round of dough in. Cooked for about 20 min in one side then flipped dough and did another 5-10 before adding toppings. I put my tomato sauce mixture on then some peppers, mushrooms and onion that I had sautéed. On top of that the mozzarella cheese. Have to watch it but 10-15 minutes for me. I normally don't sauté my vegetables for pizza in the oven but was afraid they would become too soggy if u did not. Only tried this because in my neck of woods too hot right now for oven pizza.

Also made banana bread using a box mix. After mixing dough divided in two batches. Each batch took about an hour. Turned out okay but for one person two loaves is too much. Not sure I would do this again either.

Have made the recipe in Marian's cookbook for pork chop with stuffing only I used chicken. Think it may work better with the pork chop because chicken released to much liquid making stuffing to moist for my liking. If I try it again will use a pork chop and see how it turns out.

As Meridith said this is not a fast cooker do requires dedication of time to experiment. I would like to try the bread pudding in Marian's cookbook.

Re: Perfect Cooker Recipes tried

@Marp The bread pudding was almost soup so unfortunately would not have been able to put in a patty to fry it.  I let it get firm and set up and then tried it. It was delicious. I found I forgot the egg and later found the updated recipe that said 3 cups of bread and I had 2 1/2 cups in it. I would make again but add enough bread up until it looked firmer after the liquid soaked in. Fresh raspberries were awesome in it. I bet blackberries would be good too. Smiley Happy

Re: Perfect Cooker Recipes tried

I had the same problem with the bread pudding I made - it stayed too wet, more like thick oatmeal and I added more time, up to 45 minutes more. I used blueberries. Next time I'll use more bread and see how that works out. I'm not in a hurry to try it again, anytime soon though.
