I got a jar of Penzey's air dried shallots for free with my last order. They are wonderful! I've put them in soups and added them to grains/beans. They will be a regular at my house!

I got them too.  I've just used them once, on a chicken breast that I was grilling on my George Foreman grill.  I look forward to trying them in other recipes.   They taste wonderful.

I love them in soups. They even perk up canned soups! Also good in deviled eggs..I use them in my ground beef for hamburgers even! Also I scrambled eggs and omelets..tuna salad and chicken salad..they rehydrate really easily and I don't always have fresh on hand...

I've ordered these several times, and my favorite way to use them is in homade salad dressings. It is so much easier than dealing with fresh shallots.

Hi Lacey1 - I love anything in the onion family, just found the site. Thanks much!

I was born with nothing and still have most of that left!

I love these shallots and throw them into everything . . . I prefer the shallot flavor over onions many times so it's so nice to have on hand just in case you run into a recipe you would like to try but don't have a fresh shallot on hand (which I almost never do).  These are a great addition to anyone's pantry . . . love!  Heart

When I bought Penzeys shallots in their Portland, OR store the clerk recommended storing them in the refrigerator. Love them. Need to reorder.

I like the shallot pepper. I had a recipe published in the catalog using the shallot pepper.

I tried the shallots, but I didn't buy them again.
