I came across this idea a few weeks ago and just love it.
I enjoy bringing muffins to my work teammates every so often and this presentation looks so delicious.
These are not mine in the photo, but it's easy to do with 6"x6" SQUARES of parchment. Use a small glass to push them into place before adding the batter.

That is interesting. I haven't seen them advertised. I bet they are easier than cupcake papers.

CORRECTION!
My original post said 6x6 rounds ... it's SQUARES!

Oh I missed that. That's a good idea. I've only used parchment paper in the last couple years. Don't know how I lived without it.

not sure I understand the value unless you over-fill the cups and these prevent over flow. I actually like my muffin papers, I just finished my stars & stripes ones and mine truly have a muffin top.

Same here. Sometimes it seems wasteful, but it's so much easier.
BTW - They do sell squares on Amazon, every size imaginiable.

I rarely use any papers at all, because I prefer the outside of muffins that are baked directly in contact with the pan, but i also don't give them out. When we used to do muffins for birthday parties though, I used papers. I noticed my local grocery store uses parchment squares.

I just like the presentation. I have found with some paper muffin cups, that the muffins stick to the paper. It hasn't happened with the parchment.

That's true that the muffin doesn't stick as much to parchment.
