In looking at these recipes, I think I'll try the one made with the Mascarpone Cheese and lemon zest - it also uses Lemon Cake Mix for the crumb topping instead of plain flour and powdered sugar - sounds and looks decadent!{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I have not had this cake at Olive Garden but the plain flour/sugar topping that isn't cooked turned me off; the lemon cake mix would be better but I also thought about using a topping of vanilla wafers finely crumbled, powdered sugar, and some lemon zest

I haven't had it either, but I love anything lemon and anything creamy, so putting the two together......! I like your idea...it made me think of a different take on it for me, because I love nuts in any kind of dessert, so I might chop some nuts fairly fine and mix it into the topping. Just makes it that much more decadent!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
