Please don't buy these on QVC. They sell the beet pickles, sauerkraut, etc. Today I was at Big Lots and bought Polish Dill Pickles and Diced Beets. They had a variety of Old World products. They cost $3.49 each.

I'm not sure I have a Big Lots within 100 miles of where I live and I've never seen these elsewhere.

Sometimes if you really like a product and it is not sold in your area you are willing to pay more online. I am wondering if you saw the same products that are sold onQVC. That is a major difference in price.

The QVC price is the same as the four packs of 32oz. jars as the vendor's website.

But yes, some Big Lots have some Old World products available sometimes. In my area that's usually just the Red Caggage and the Sauerkraut. Never the jellies or mustard products. One thing I have learned from buying products at Big Lots is to always check the expiration dates.

This is an example of QVC offering products to some areas of the country where these items are not readily available.

Sadly BIG LOTS is closing a lot of stores, the one near me included.  I never purchased food - but like to shop there for other things.

Big Lots recently closed around 500 locations nationwide for "financial reasons".      BOTH of the stores near me are gone.    Now, the closest one is too far for me to drive.    Not worth spending the gasoline to save a buck...but I sure MISS those stores.

This thread reminded me that I hadn't been in a Big Lots in months. So I stopped in yesterday. The first thing that struck me is that now the store is 50% furniture. That's a lot of floor space. I wonder if the move to that change is what's promoting their financial difficulties.

The only Old World product I found were the Baby Beets. Not what I was hoping for. But you never know what your going to find. I came out with a large jar of olives, buffalo sauce, hoisin sauce, and Italian spice mix. They did have very large bags of Farmer Jon's popcorn in buttered and sea salt. Couldn't see the price since they were on the very top unreachable shelf.

I have three Big Lots near me, two of them are closing. I'd be surprised if all of them don't close next year.
