I had a yen for tuna macaroni salad today, and I haven't had it in years. It was easy to throw together and is nice for this miserable weather.  Have you had a craving for a throwback recipe, care to share ?

Love love that salad - I've been wanting a bowl - got the fix-ins but not the time.  Niece coming from FL next  week - so that's on the menu plus ribs!

Love to share but running late so...........Google - Food Tuna & macaroni cold salad - it's as old as time and you can add or deleted whatever you like.

I use small RING mac instead of elbow - cook drain - splash some oil on it and then add mayo.   S/Pepper/garlic powder , some dill  -

Chop onion - celery - red or green peppers if you like - baby peas add at the end. - mix it together - add more mayo as needed and especially the next day when it will be even better.

Lastly - mix in  3- 4 boiled eggs that have been sliced and the peas.  Sprinkle top with paprika for color

Sorry this is so sloppy - now have to take trash to curb!

Great for hot days...........................................

@happilyretiredgirl , If I had one I would share it gladly. However these are my ingredients.

1 lb. elbows ( I use whole wheat, just a preference )

1 med. onion minced

2 stalks of celery diced

1 can white tuna

 garlic powder

dill

pepper

I don't add salt for health reasons

Mayo to taste.

The above two recipes, one "tuna heavy" and one "mac heavy,"  demonstrate the beauty of this salad.  Short on an ingredient?  No big deal.  I tend to go "veggie heavy," lots of chopped onion, celery and green or red pepper.  DH hates vegetables, and in this case doesn't even notice them.  I also do the same thing with pot roast, stew, etc.  The huge amount of veggies cooks down and doesn't seem out of proportion when the dish is done.

@QVCkitty1  and @fthunt  I made this salad for dinner today and thought my husband was going to say no thanks, but he really liked it.  I served mine on lettuce with slice tomatoes and some boiled eggs and a few deviled eggs and served on the side with crackers it was so refeshing and good for a quick easy meal.  Thanks for this great new receipe.
