I put some water on to boil so I could steep tea to make iced tea.  But I got engrossed here and the poor pot suffered from my forgetfulness.

It is now cooling and we'll see if it recovers enough to be salvaged.

I do it all the time.  What kind of pot?

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

I quit boiling water for tea. I put cold water and tea bags in a big mason jar and put it in the fridge. If I want hot tea-I just pour some in a mug and nuke it.

Good to know I'm not the only one to ruin a pot. Yes, the microwave is my friend when boiling water for my tea.

Hooray, it was salvageable.  It was a one-quart pot from the Rocco diSpirito collection the Q offered many years ago.  It is a surprisingly sturdy set.

I was making enough water for a pitcher of tea.  Next time I'll set the timer to go off.  It's simpler to boil water in the pot than in my tea kettle since I can then put the tea bags directly in the pot to steep, let it cool slightly, and then put the steeped tea in a pitcher.

I find I prefer the taste of water-boiled-on-the-stove for tea better than microwaved water.  For hot tea, it's usually just one cup at a time and then I use my tea kettle.  Boy, lots of explanation just for making tea.

Hope everybody enjoys any tea they might make today!  Woman Very Happy

I also prefer the cold brew method.   The result is better tasting, IMO, smoother.   I discovered this method a couple of months ago, and it's my method of choice from now on.

Glad your pan is OK.

Tea is an art!  As much as wine or coffee.

I have Le Creuset pots and pans.  Nonstick?  NO!  I broiled some chicken thighs for the first time in an electric oven.  I'm used to gas and I left them in too long.  Dawn Platinum took care of the pan, and hubby took care of the chicken!

I have an electric 1.2L kettle that I fill up and boil the water in a few minutes, then put the bags in the tupperware pitcher and pour the water over.  I put the lid on for it to steep until it is nice and dark, then remove and squeeze the bags and I'm done!  I don't heat up the house or burn up a pot since the kettle has an auto off.
