I have never been impressed with oatmeal. There is a container of oatmeal on top of my cabinet right now (1 minute kind). I just look at it. I think I'm afraid of it but there are good ideas on this thread.

I get the kind with almonds, berries, all kinds of great, healthy ingredients so I only add some ground flaxseed, Cinnamon, a drop of butter and organic honey and some skim milk at the end. I also add a handful of chopped walnuts while cooking. Delicious!
Sounds good...where do you buy it?
I forgot that I add cinnamon also to mine...and sometimes chopped walnuts.
Madisson: I used to get it through Amazon but they do not have the one I like so I now get it through their website. Just look up Holly Oatmeal. It is pure, and loaded with everything healthy and good. You will never eat Quaker oatmeal again, believe me. I get the combo with almonds and there is another one we just tried which my DH just loves with mixed berries.
Thank you! I'm going to order some. It's funny...I always hated oatmeal as a child, but I love it now!

Barbara-I'm with you on this one--Butter and brown sugar!
Sometimes a splash of milk, too. Love oatmeal, but I don't have it enough. Perhaps tomorrow morning!

Plain oatmeal with a little 1% milk - eat it every morning for breakfast.

I like it with brown sugar and a little milk. Sometimes I add blueberries too.

I wonder if the butter is a Southern thing. My mother, who lives with us, said that my grandfather used to add butter to his oatmeal and grits. He was a true Southerner.
