Anyone else confused about how to claim refund for recalled oven gloves.  Started the recall and hit a roadblock when I had to line up, label  and photograph gloves.  Too many hoops to jump through  !

Don't click on the link provided in the email. I did and I got a trojan horse! It has taken me hours to remove it.

I agree.  I followed the directions and got a recall number.  But, then I had to take a picture of the gloves with the recall number written on them.   When I went back in, it said my recall number was not valid.  The computer gave me a different recall number.

I submitted what I had but I'm betting I won't get a refund because of dual recall numbers.  They certainly don't make it easy.

What a convoluted mess!

In other words, I'm sure they are hoping they will not have many to issue a refund to!

It's not that horrible.

Make sure you have your proof of purchase ready to photograph (easily accessed in your QVC account) and all of the gloves to be claimed.

Once you enter your info, you just have to write 'recall' on the glove tag and the recall number they issue you while you step through the instructions.

It took me a few minutes to snap two pictures and label the gloves and I was done.

I had a return something some place where they wanted me to send a video from my phone. I tried to do that but it was too large so I had to figure out how to make it smaller. I finally figured that out. Now they wanted me to upload it using Facebook or the Cloud. I told them I didn't use either. LOL!!!

Is this the future?

Fine if you have one pair.  I have many for each season...stored with other seasonal decor.  The Q knows what I have ordered...they can easily issue the refunds without  all the labels, pix , etc.  I don't think they really care to issue refunds !!!

Re: OVEN GLOVE RECAL

[ Edited ]

Temptations should hang their heads in shame -- both for irresponsibly selling a product that was dangerous and making a convoluted mess of the Refund process. Not to mention that they, along with QVC, presumably could have accessed purchaser names to  notify them of the potential danger of using the gloves. I learned about the Recall from these forums and then Googled for more information. I later learned that there was supposedly some kind of notice on the first page of the QVC web site, which I never saw. One even wonders if the gloves were tested before they were marketed?

The Rep at Temptations CS continued to ignore me when I repeatedly told her that I did not have a Smart Phone to take a picture to even start the return process. As she babbled on and on, I got angry -- and she stopped ignoring what I said by hanging up on me.

And now for the bright side ... I then called QVC and the kind CS Rep told me I could return the unused gloves for a refund (they were to be a Christmas gift ) but to do so in the near future. She topped it off her kindness and efficiency by saying she would send me a return label.

Of course, I would never buy from Temptations again and suggest that others think long and hard before they do. Remember all of the reports of Temptations dishes cracking and baking in the oven? This company seems to be trying to lose customers -- and they assuredly will in my opinion.

@Laura14

Totally disagree....Not really easy at all.....I have a house full of Temp-tations....and NONE of my purchases came up in my order history no matter how I searched.

Besides, you do NOT need a receipt unless you are claiming a refund on over 10 (TEN) glove sets.

Not everyone has the knowledge of taking pictures, transferring to a computer, converting the file to a j.peg which is all they will accept (NOT PDF which is more common)...then uploading......THEN writing on them (took 5 tries to get a perm marker that would be legible)...take another picture, send to computer.....convert to j.peg

and upload AGAIN!

Good for you if you find all that easy, but MANY people will not.

QVC has record of who purchased.....refunds should just be given without that lengthy procedure.

@RespectLife That was not my experience. Most people will do this on a mobile device like an iPad or mobile phone and it could not have been easier if you do it that way.

For anyone looking to submit:

1. To find the recall site, go to the QVC home page, scroll all the way down to Product recalls and click through the glove link.

2. Complete the online form with your personal information.

3. Hit the upload button. It will automatically turn on your camera and you just snap a picture of your purchase order(s).

To find your purchase orders, they are easily found by typing the word "gloves" in the search bar when you go to My Account and search through your order statuses.

It is not required if less than 11 gloves, but they will possibly give you a higher refund with proof of purchase.

4. Label your gloves with the word "recall" and your recall number that generates automatically while you follow the steps above. They also show you a picture of exactly how to do it.

5. Hit a second upload button which activates your camera again on your mobile device, snap a picture of labeled gloves in one shot and you're done.

There was no converting from one device to another.

If you do it with a mobile device like a cellphone or I used my iPad, it's as simple as filling out a form, labeling your gloves as directed, and taking two pictures.
