For years our living room Christmas tree has been decorated with the beautiful ribbons and bows from our daughters' Christmas weddings, and ornaments to match. We always loved them, but I was in the drugstore and saw tinsel for the first time in years and brought it home, only to realize that when we'd had tinsel so many years ago we had those big old-fashioned and beautiful colored lights.

All our lights now are the common white twinkly ones (and I was not about to replace them), so I was concerned that the tinsel wouldn't really look good. But it does and all of those little lights really reflect on the tinself beautifully. A pretty white pearly star at the top and some of those curly gold sticks, yes gold, poking up around it, and the simple tree does its magic.

So, I can stand in the kitchn door and see through to the tree -- so that makes it o.k. to post on the Kitchen And Food Talk Forum, right? Wink

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all!
