I just got this in my Joey Green December newsletter - Wacky Uses for things. It's a little late for this year, but someone may want to try it next Christmas, since December 21 will most likely come around again.
“To prolong the life of a Christmas tree, remove all of the outer material from the core of a Huggies diaper. Place the crystals and cotton in four quart bowl. Pour two cups filtered water over the diaper crystals. Wait twenty minutes. Add more water, a little at a time, and wait a few minutes between each addition until contents of bowl swells to the brim. Put water-filled crystals in a Christmas tree stand after tree is in place. The tree soaks up water from crystals. Water doesn’t evaporate or splash. The tree will not require watering very often during holidays. Check reservoir now and then and carefully add a little more water if necessary.”<br />
