First, I have a question, do Christmas Club accounts pay interest greater than regular money market or savings accounts. If so, that's good.

But if not, the concept seems as if it is no longer necessary. Now, with direct deposit (mandatory at so many companies), we can have our paychecks split up between several different checking/savings accounts, so I'm not sure why a "Christmas Club" account is advantageous?

But please, enlighten me.
