OP, thank you for posting this and bringing me down memory lane. I remember those candy necklaces and pixie sticks, and the wax lips, and jolly ranchers, bubble gum cigars and I can't believe how much of that stuff I consumed when I was a child. Even the candy cigarettes...which by the way NEVER NEVER led me to smoke one cigarette in my lifetime. As I recall they banned those sometime ago. But, as a non smoker my whole life, I love the way they tasted when I was a little girl...but, they were not influential in any way. Oh yes...one more thing I remember ....the giant sweet tart...remember when you licked it for so long it made your tongue raw ? Aaah those great memories of being a child in the 60's. I can also remember...if you had a quarter...it would buy you a whole bag of candy. I think I consumed more sugar in my childhood than in my whole adult life {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I still buy candy and bubble gum ciggerettes. Hahah! I buy a case of each every Halloween for the grandkids. We sit around and smoke em till they are gone. I know,I know bad, bad ...no one smokes in our family, but somehow it is aright of passage to have a bubble gum smoke. They still blow the powder "smoke", LOL!@ I am bad.

That's funny! I didn't know they were still available. I loved them, and I never smoked a real cigarette in my life. I can see why they are not really appropriate, though. Maybe I'll get some for my son who smokes. He can skip every other real cigarette and replace it with one of these! Ha! After he strangles me.

Gee thanks, now I am craving a 7-up bar. Those were the best. And yes, I remember chico sticks, they were one of my favorites. And the Boston baked beans.

About once a year I order a box of Chick-o-Sticks from Amazon. Still awesome. I also love the Boston Baked Beans candy, but haven't had that in eons.

I also liked the Chocolate Necco Wafers that somebody pictured. Not the different colored ones, just the chocolate ones.

I also love Sweettarts. Never saw chewy ones, though.

I'm a child of the 80s and I remember a lot of these candies posted- especially the fun dip! I also remember the tan M&Ms. I also remember warheads, ring pops, bubble tape, pop rocks and bottle caps.

Re: Nostalgic Childhood Candy

Well, this thread is bad for me! Someone mentioned 7 up bar, and it sounded so good I looked it up, and right away I wanted one. I found out that they don't make 7 up bar anymore, but they make a SKY BAR that has 4 sections instead of 7 that is like a Seven Up Bar. I ordered them on Amazon.{#emotions_dlg.blushing}

BTW housecat, I bought the "smokes" on Amazon. I am not a smoker, neither are my grandkids..but we eat the candy ciggs and the chew the bubble gum ciggs in the privacy of our own home. Hahaha.

My 8 year old grand daughter didn't know what they were. No on either side of the family smokes, and she hasn't been around it. That nwas interesting.

I showed my husband this thread and this pic stopped him in his tracks. He said it was his favorite cookie ""of his whole life""!

I ordered the Necco chocolate wafers from Amazon the other day and already got them. They are just as good as I remember.

Oh, cool. You'd think I would have realized they had them. Not that I'm often shopping for candy, but I'm on Amazon every day. Thanks! Smiley Happy
