Just to again test/compare the TSV with the NordicWare Tender Cooker, I made a cup of rice and first of all the recipe was just as you would expect for a PC... 1 cup rice to 1.5 cups of water and it turned out perfectly after cooking in the MW for 8.75 minutes.
The TSV on the other hand had a 1 cup rice to 1 cup water ratio and even after 11.5 minutes the rice was not as I liked it.
In addition, the NordicWare unit not only is made in the USA, but support is via phone to an American in the USA.
With this simple test, I can really say there is a night/day difference between these two.
Cooking a couple of cups of rice in the MW takes about 12 minutes BUT there is a 30 minute rest period so that is about 42 minutes thus the NordicWare unit is much faster.
Comparing the NW and TSV is like comparing a Mercedes and a Yugo.
As far as those saying they tried the Chili recipe and it worked in 20 min with the TSV, you can in 25 minutes prepare a far larger pot simply using a microwave container. This speaks of very little final difference between simply using the MW and the TSV.
