The beautiful shaped pans with raised pumpkins and peaks make beautiful loaves and bundt cakes but are the raised parts of the finished product dried out from exposure to the heat?  I'd love to update my pans if what comes out isn't all dried out on top.

The raised parts are crust like, but not burned or not fit to eat!  They are beautiful!

Yes, I agree with Sooner! The pans are definitely worth owning. In fact, I just bought a new Nordic Ware Autumn Wreath Bundt today—we'll need two cakes for an upcoming harvest fair. I've learned over the years that all NW pans are worth the investment, and my overflowing "party pantry" bears witness to my love of them. Smiley Happy

I use Nordic Ware bundt pans and their loaf pans all the time.  The area that maybe raised does not come out dried up in my experience.  I have both of these pans and the finished product is just beautiful...

@KatieB - The top pan you're showing here is one of my all-time favorites! I've been known to make pumpkin-pan banana bread all year round just to see that pretty pattern... Smiley Wink

@loriqvc

I know, I am the same way...   I love all of their pans but the pumpkins with the wheat loaf pan is my favorite too...

Those are pretty cool!

I think my only NW baking pan is a bundt cake pan.   Oddly, I always wanted a bundt cake pan and, finally, probably 15 years ago, I got one.  I haven't used it in 2-3 years, so I should get on the stick.  Smiley Very Happy

But the brand has always been good.   I believe I also have a NW brand, bundt cake pan shaped, thing with a cover for storage of the cake.  IIRC, it's clear plastic but well made.

I got a Nordicware dutch oven in red (LOL) it's half the wgt of cast iron

half aluminum and half iron. I always reach for it nowdays instead of the

Rachel Ray cast iron.

Good line of products.

Well, so much for sitting on the fence!  I've been oggling them for way too long.  My sorry old loaf pans were inherited from my mother and she's been gone for over 40 years and were well used then.  It's time, ya think?  LOL

Those pans are gorgeous!!

@Free2be I have had that pumpkin loaf pan and several other of their specialty pans--haunted house, castle, cakelets pan, mini Bundts, and regular Bundt, presents/packages pan, Christmas sleigh loaf pan, etc.  Nothing is overdone or crusty on the tops when done.

I butter my pans very thoroughly (I don't use cooking spray) and have never had a problem.  Makes me look like a much better baker than I am!

I posted a recipe on the Q recipe forum (back in August I think) for a cake using the haunted house cake pan.

Can't beat Nordic Ware quality and they are made in the USA.  I use a Dobie pad and Dawn to thoroughly clean them.
