I made one batch of frozen yogurt. I made another with canned peaches. Then I tried the recipe in the booklet for ice cream. After 1 spin I did a remix. Now I am stuck I can't put the container back to remix again. A metal spindle is hanging down and won't retract, so I can't put the container back to do anything. Plus the ice cream is no longer frozen--it is liquid. I am so disappointed. Anyone have a solution, or do I have to return it?

Re: Ninja creami defective??

@geegerbee.  Does Ninja have a customer service number you can call?  Sometimes unplugging then replugging an appliance will reset it.

I just saw this on the Facebook group. They told the lady to plug it in and unplug it and see if that did it.

Re: Ninja creami defective??

In general, anything with a computer in it, and the Creami has a little processor in it, can be restored by unplugging it and letting it rest unplugged for a few seconds and then plugging it back in. Hopefully, that'll work for you in this case. Also, check to be sure the container is still in its mix position and everything is locked in place. The Creami has some interlocks that will stop the machine if everything isn't where it belongs.

Re: Ninja creami defective??

Yes, thanks to your advice, it worked after unplugging and replugging in. A win!

@geegerbee  Now that it's working, how do you like it?  Thinking about getting one.  Thanks in advance

I'm not geegerbee, but I bought a Creami Deluxe here back in November and it's been great. I'm still playing around with it. Frozen desserts come in all kinds of forms with it other than ice cream. I just made a two-ingredient frozen dessert made with root beer (16 ounces) and DreamWhip (one envelope) that was surprisingly easy, fast, and tasty. Frozen pudding makes a pretty good treat also. There are endless recipes out there. The custard-based ice cream recipes are the best for ice cream in my experience, but the cost to make it rivals the best ice cream you can buy premade in stores between the heavy cream and egg yolks. It's absurdly good though. My go-to custard-based ice cream recipe uses one and a half cups of heavy cream and four egg yolks for one cup of ice cream, so not cheap.

Pinterest has about a million Creami recipes on it (that's where I got the root beer/Dream Whip recipe.) And there are recipes all over the Internet for the Creamis. The machines are large and loud when in use, so you're not sneaking in a frozen dessert without everyone else in the house (and maybe nearby neighbors) knowing it. It works very well though. I keep a cup of something ready for use in my freezer all the time. It's like two minutes from a frozen cup to a cold treat.

Re: Ninja creami defective??

@gardenman  Thanks for the review.  I think I'll pick one up.  Love ice cream, slushi's and other frozen desserts.
