I can purchase the ninja 3 in 1 in black with the roasting rack and 1 pan for $100.00 from kohls. There are no other acessories. Should I purchase this or the new one they just aired on QVC with the glass lid. Which one is better the 3 in 1 or 4 in 1. Thank you in advance for any advice.

I have the three in one and when I bought it, it came with the roasting rack, two pans, and protective gloves.....I am wait listed for the four in one, but I still don't know what the difference is between the two. I didn't realize the four in one has a glass lid-and I really don't know if that will make a difference. I would says Kohl's has a good price.....but does it come with the cookbook? This is different than crock pot cookery, and I find the book is important in understanding how to best use the machine. Other than that, in the back of the book is a retail accessory list-virtually all of those items could be found in a big chain discount store, inexpensively. I know the 4 in one offered on the Q has a carrying case that probably retails for around $30- that is a guess on my part. Insulated carriers like that tend to be pricey, and in the book that came with my Ninja, it's not being offered. I hope this helps. Poodlepet

Oh, one more thought: did you check Bed Bath and Beyond? Once these things hit the market, they seem to be sold in different configurations such as what Kohls is selling. BBB MAY offer a different configuration with a few more accessories, not to mention they always seem to have nice coupons and savings, and sometimes if they don't have the item, you get fabulous deals. For example, there was a particular model of the Room a that we wanted, and they didn't have it....not only did they order one for us, they took 100 bucks off, gave us a twenty five dollar coupon towards the next purchase and then they had it shipped to us for free! I do like that store! Poodlepet

I have a 3 (mine came with the roasting rack, 2 pans and a set of utensils. The only differences I can see between the 3 & the 4 are the glass lid and the fact that the 4 also can be used as a steamer (or at least I think that's what I read). I love my Ninja 3-in-1. I'm not a cook, and only cook for myself. But that's my go-to item to use.

Poodlepet BBB has the exact deal. I guess I need to decide if its worth the extra for the color, the book and the carrying case and I am thinking it is.

Ok, this is where I didn't get it...you can use the 3 in one as a steamer-I have done lobster tails etc... I have sauteed, browned, steam roasted, steam baked, kept warm.... I went ahead and ordered the four in one because we have our weekend place and our primary residence and I don't want to haul stuff back and forth.....but I still don't really know what the difference is between the two.... I am perfectly happy with the 3 in one......oh well.... what can I say? Right now I am making a variation of the Lemon Chicken with Rosemary: I love this machine for chicken if nothing else, but it is so handy when it comes to keeping things warm. I have knee and back problems and my Bosch oven has a warming drawer and it's useless to me, other than storage.....this is so much easier! Poodlepet

I think the difference is the glass lid and the 4 in 1 has a steaming function for vegies. Have you used your ninja as a slow cooker and left home with it on?

I have the 3 in 1 and would LOVE the 4 in 1 because of the glass lid and extra feature. I'd recommend going for the 4.... it's a great product!!

I will go to my death bed saying don't trust it as a slow cooker: that vent allows liquid to evaporate, and it needs to be monitored. Please don't get angry with me, but because that vent allows for evaporation, it can/ does dry out.....with that open vent, it is not a crock pot. If you want to trust the manufacturer, go right ahead, but I have seen liquid evaporate and I had to add more. No problem, but don't set it and regret it.....if you really think you can use this as a slow cooker for eight hours- unattended- I would love to know how.... the other proviso is not to plug up vents and to use the appliance as tested by the URL. I am very concerned about safety: I like this appliance and when it comes down to it, I could replicate many of its features such as the steam baking, but heart felt, and having some kitchen experience, please, please, please, be safe-This is not the cooker you leave unattended. Please be safe, Poodlepet
