My Ninja was a freebie from a neighbor who didn't use it so I'm a little confused about the slow cooker feature. The only cover I have is vented. How is it possible to slow cook if the heat can escape? Many of my slow cooker recipes say not to remove the cover.

I own the 3 in one and the lid has a small steam vent.  I've used it for slow cooking many times and had no problem at all..... have fun with it, it's one of my favorite units.

@AuntG I bet if you look online you could find the operating instructions to read or print. There are many recipes to google too.

I had a Ninja 4 in 1 for a couple years until my daughter dropped it on the floor and broke it. It worked well as a slow cooker even with the vent hole.  What I find is that you can use any recipes for slow cooker in the Ninja, but you can use the saute/brown function and brown the meat and onions/vegetables frist, add the liquid, and the switch to the slow cook function.  I like the Ninja because it is one pot cooking.

@AuntG - I have the 4 in 1 and use it as a slow cooker often. Even with the small hole in the lid it works great as a slow cooker.  Use any recipe for slow cooking or create your own.  I have the cookbook that came with it.  Most of the recipes say that slow cook low is twice as long as slow cook high.  I am making baby back pork ribs in it tomorrow.  The ribs come out so tender.  When I slowcook, I use a slow cook liner in it and havevirtually no clean up.  Ninja has tons of recipes on line.  You will enjoy using it, especially in the summer hot weather.  Makes a great pot roast!

Thank you all. I'll be browning a pork roast tomorrow and then slow cooking it for pulled pork sandwiches. Seems I was worried about that vent unnecessarily.

I have the 4 in 1 got it from QVC but used it a few times. I got to re try it again, the liquid cooked off and I have to keep watching it. I don't have that problem with my slow cookers. Remember when QVC were always selling them, you never see it anymore, it's air fryers & pressure cookers now.

@sissel and Insta pots too. My Ninja is like new but doesn't have the touch pad; it has knobs instead so it is probably a couple of years old. QVC offers the current fads but I won't take the bait.

I have the knobs too but I am going to re read and try again only used it a few times. I  was going to give it to my daughter but she has a small kitchen & not space for it. I also have the old nesco roaster (love it for turkey breast) another thing that is in the closet because only two of us now. I love the toys and I haven't used big oven in a long time but cooking for 2 isn't fun.
