Ninja 3 in 1 question, please

If you have this cooker, do you ever plug the hole in the lid? It seems very large to me, and I wondered if the recipes given in the booklet that comes with the cooker allow for more evaporation due to this larger hole. I've only used mine a few times, which I've enjoyed, but when I cooked dried beans on slow cooker mode, I stuffed the hole with some aluminum foil. Just wondering how others felt about this. Thanks!
