New to Temp-tations, concerned about quality issues...question for long-time users of TT.

I really like the stoneware pieces and love the decorative look of them. I really enjoy "pretty" things and this is leading me to really want to have a collection of the Temp-Tations. I have been reading these boards as well as lots of reviews on QVC's website and am concerned about the quality issues.

Most of the items are getting the majority five stars ratings, but there are a significant amount of people that complain of the pieces cracking and breaking. Are there people that have been using TT for a long time and have never had a problem with their pieces chipping or cracking? Would love some feedback from long-time users.

Thanks!

Sheryl72, I guess I'm just lucky with mine. I've had some Temptations pieces for several years and they are just as nice today as they were new. No crack or anything.

I have some newer peices as well and so far nothing has happened to them.

I love cooking and baking with each peice. So easy to clean and goes right in the dishwasher. I do spray with Pam before cooking tho. Just to be sure of easy cleanup.

If you do decide to try some, I think you will thoroughly enjoy cooking with them.

May depend on how you use them - on air recently, when a viewer complained of cracking, David Venable said you have to put the bakeware in a cold oven to start with, not pre-heated. What this does to some recipes I don't know!

I have several pieces and I like them; however, I have noticed with the more recent sets less than desirable workmanship--chips, uneven painting, paint streaks, etc. I have never experienced problems baking with them, but I do have some pieces that are starting to have brown lines running through them. I don't really know what that's about

Re: New to Temp-tations, concerned about quality issues...question for long-time users of TT.

Over the years I have purchased at least five or more Temptation sets because of the beauty and easy clean up to replace Corning ware, regular glass bakeware, metal bakeware that in many cases were over 30 years old. I was thrilled to have the pretty bakeware that could go from oven to table.......I did not freeze in the Temptations and usually always hand washed except for a few of the small individual serving pieces. I am a widow with a small family so I am no longer a big cook. So my Temptation pieces are not used too much usually just one piece or two a week for lasagna or maybe pot roast. In the last year I have had three Temptation pieces break. A lid it that I was using on top of a 9x13 pan to cook a pot roast cracked in two pieces while in a 325 degree oven. I smaller 2 quart dish with 3 chicken breast wrapped in foil to bake also cracked. Another square baker that I used for chocolate sheet cake has developed crazing lines on the bottom so I am afraid to use it. I do love the beauty and ease of cleaning but am disappointed in the quality. The quality issue will make it difficult to purchase Temptations in the future.

I have a baker that developed crazing all over sides and bottom. It started after I cooked mac and cheese and got worse each time I used it. I was at the point of throwing it away when I decided to call Temptations Customer Service. Although the baker was 2 years old, when I told them my problem and that purchasing a single piece was almost as much as a whole new set and that I was afraid to use it any more (which was true), they offered to send me a new one for a shipping and handling fee only of $9.95. It came in less than 2 weeks. I was very pleased with their service.

I have a number of Temp-tations sets and I hate to say this but I'll never, ever buy another piece of it again. I've got cracks in almost all of my pieces and I've also had things stick in them. When I called customer service about it one time, I was told I could get a replacement set but I'd have to pack up the whole set and send it back to QVC. Needless to say, the boxes were long gone and to pack up would be too much of a hassle so I kept them. I use them once I've cooked something in another pan and them take it to the table in the Temp-tations because they are pretty. I am disappointed that the quality of them aren't what I expect from QVC products.

classylady - i have the exact same experience. I know a lot of the women here do not use the wire racks and IMO when they set their hot pieces on to cold counters (granite is especially cold) it would naturally cause them to crack - then the next time they use them they break. There is a reason the wire racks are included.
