I stopped watching that show long ago.  I was never sure what his job was. I love to cook but there are no food oriented shows I enjoy right now.

ATK is more for the upscale geek and never enjoyed it as much as Cook's Country.

The women seemed to be cooking for Chris so that was a turnoff. I like Jack & Adam the test ur gadget guy. Tho the top rated gadgets have been from some of their sponsors.

I wish the ladies good luck. Chris is said to be worth some $13M so my heart isn't breaking.

Re: New hosts for America's Test Kitchen

I read it was a contract dispute that never could be resolved, so Chris Kimball left Cooks Illustrated and the TV show.

The current hosts are fine--they were on the show all along and they did a good job.

As to "cooking FOR him" being bad, you know, the way to a man's heart is sitll through the stomach, and I wish I still had my guy to cook for. It's not unattractive to be cooking for a guy. It's an act of love. It's all how you frame it. Is it degradation or is it caring?

Re: New hosts for America's Test Kitchen

This is a perfect example of why you should never give up control of a company you start. If you're not in control, sooner or later whoever is in charge will decide you're expendable and you'll be tossed out. Apple did it with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (Apple's original creators) before eventually bringing Steve Jobs back. You see it quite often. A person puts their heart and soul into a company and then gets kicked to the curb. While it's true that Chris Kimball has made a fortune off of his creations, I dare say their value is many times what he's earned. He's made $13 million, but the brand he created is probably worth ten times that.

It's tempting as the person who put so much energy into creating the company to decide to step back and let others take over the day to day hassles, but more often than not those people will decide you're expendable, so you're smarter not yielding power.
