Re: New Temp-tations replacement policies in effect this year

Been thru with TT a long time now. Sold all of mine in a garage sale. I have a few fiesta dinner plates and a bunch of Polish Stoneware in dinner plates, dessert plates, bowls, mixing bowls, serving trays. TT doesn't even come close to these.

The only thing I have left of TT is the paper towel holder. It has held up for now. Maybe because it doesn't go in the oven.{#emotions_dlg.sleep}

Re: New Temp-tations replacement policies in effect this year

I will be interested to see if anyone makes a final determination about refunds of original shipping, but I would also like to know what the final outcome is about who is responsible for shipping back a defective product bought from Tara's website.

This is what is on the Temp-tations website under Frequently Asked Questions:

What if a product is defective?

Should your product prove to be defective within the three-year warranty period, we will have the option to repair or replace your item at no charge. Shipping and handling costs are not included in the terms of this warranty and will be your responsibility.

If you’re not completely satisfied with temp-tations®, simply follow the return instructions below and return your set within 30 days of receipt for a refund of the purchase price (less shipping and handling). Unfortunately, we cannot offer free return shipping, unless the product you received is broken, damaged or defective."

If this is what their website says, then apparently you do have to ship the products back and they will refund your purchase price, but NOT YOUR ORIGINAL SHIPPING. They may pay for the return shipping if it's defective, but it specifically states you don't get your original shipping refunded the way QVC does.

So if you buy it from their website and just don't like it, you would have to pay to send it back and also not get your original shipping back. I doubt that would be worth it, so you would be stuck with something you didn't like. Doesn't seem like a good idea to buy it from their website.

This return policy sounds standard to me. Most places will not refund original shipping unless damaged or defective.

Exactly!! some always make more out of something than there is!! Seems to me that Tara has extended her warranty and this is a GOOD thing! Thanks Tara!!!

I don't like the fact that if it arrives broken I have to pay shipping to replace. They must have decided to not insure their packages. I've never heard of this. It's definately going to make me buy elsewhere.

Yes, it is a good thing to have a three-year warranty, but that is not what is in question.

FYI, I was quoting what your friend sunshine45 posted - the return policy from TT's website, and commented on HER post. Some people were questioning whether or not Tara's website refunds original shipping as QVC does. So we are not making more of it than there is. It appears to be fact that they don't.

This was also part of sunshine45's post, referring to Tara's website - Unfortunately, we cannot offer free return shipping, unless the product you received is broken, damaged or defective.

Someone responded: "I think it's clear from the above last sentence from them that they DO cover return shipping for a defective product.

If that is true, how do you explain what is on Tara's website under FAQ's, shown below? Some of us are not trying to argue, we are simply saying that they need to get their act together and put out one definitive return policy, and stop saying different things in different places ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE.

What if a product is defective?

Should your product prove to be defective within the three-year warranty period, we will have the option to repair or replace your item at no charge.Shipping and handling costs are not included in the terms of this warranty and will be your responsibility.

Re: New Temp-tations replacement policies in effect this year

okay......here you go ladies.

i spent a bit of time with ANITA(product specialist) on the phone at temptations. here is what she confirmed regarding the website orders. she was very friendly, very helpful, and told me to call her back at anytime if i had any customer service questions. she said i could ask for her. if any of you want confirmation or questions answered beyond what i asked then i suggest asking for her. she also insured me that tara wants everyone to be 100% satisfied. i did say i was calling in reference to the WEBSITE policies.

i gave her my name, address, telephone number, and email. i did tell her WHY i was calling ( i did mention the qvc boards) and told her that i have not had any problems with my temptations pieces. no, i am not an employee of temptations, no i am not affiliated with anyone else on these boards, and no i am not invested in the company in any way other than i like their products.

RE: receiving damaged/broken/defective items in a new order. the website company will send you a new piece to replace the damaged one you received. there are absolutely no charges and you have 30 days in which to report the problem. you also DO NOT have to send back the damaged/broken/defective item.

RE: the 3 year warranty. the three year warranty kicks into effect after that initial 30 day period. the temptations website will replace your piece, you do not have to return it, but you DO have to pay $9.95 for shipping the replacement piece to you. i suggest saving your receipts now that their 3 year warranty is in effect.

RE: regular returns. yes, if you "just dont like it" then you do not get your shipping charges refunded.....just the purchase price. this is not a big surprise to me at all since there are many companies that DONT refund your shipping either way. my suggestion.....make sure you really want the item.

does that cover the website questions that were asked? if not, i will call her back and ask. my suggestion is is that if you DONT believe me then call for confirmation yourself. you can ask for anita or just get a random product specialist to answer your questions. they were quite helpful and friendly. they also have an online contact form via their website.

hope this helps temptations customers! Smile LOL it was lucky that i am having a slow day at work!!!! Wink

thank you! thank you! thank you!!!!!I hope now that the OP and a few other posters have their questions answered since they seem to be SO worried about the "new" changes about TT! Bet that is a huge load off their shoulders...lol. Seems funny (or not if you read the TT forums) that this thread was started by someone that proclaims not to buy Temp-tations anymore?

There are two different topics smooshed together in the above paragraph that does make the question about original shipping a confusing one.

The first part refers to a customer who doesn't like the product. The last sentence refers to a customer who received a defective product.

So IMO, it is unclear as to whether the second customer will receive a refund that includes the original shipping. But I can speak only for my own shopping experiences: I have never had to incur any cost for a defective product. If I were to buy a Temptations item and found myself in this situation, I would raise heck if they tried to withhold my original shipping cost.

This is tangential to the main topic of the thread. I think it's clear from the above last sentence from them that they DO cover return shipping for a defective product.

I don't think it's clear whether or not they refund the original shipping in any case, defective or not. The first part that says "less shipping and handling" leads me to believe that they don't refund the original shipping if you just return it because you don't like it, but I'm not sure about defective items. The second sentence only refers to paying for return shipping if the product is defective - it doesn't spell out whether or not the original shipping would be refunded in that case. The way I read it, the "less shipping and handling" means no one gets a refund of that. I certainly may be wrong, but that's the way I read it. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

They definitely need to make it clear. But I just looked up QVC's return policy, and I couldn't find any reference to refunds of the original shipping, although they do refund it. It's not clear on the Q's policy either. We just know they do.

I hope sunshine45's post(#35) helps "clear" everything up for you.

What I would like to know since it is not clear in many of your posts whether or not you buy Temp-tations? In a very recent post in the Temp-tations forum in the first sentence you stated that you "don't buy Temp-tations" and then in a few sentences later you state "you still might buy some bowls". I have read many times the same thing..so just wanting you to "clarify" do you or don't you?

No, it didn't, and it's none of your business why I need to know or what I buy.

Sunshine, great work, and thanks for doing that! As with any new policy changes, there are going to be conflicting statements until things get settled in. Anyone following Lisa's answers to questions about all this several days ago (facebook) can see that even she was not quite hitting the nail on the head, and seemed to either be avoiding the entire question or just not getting a full answer out from confusion.

I will still caution, that my (and other's) experiences are that the answers and the actual service you get from Temp-tations directly isn't uniform. In the past, when I had something arrive damaged, from them , the solution was different on different occasions. Sometimes I was required to send the broken/defective piece back, sometimes they sent a call tag. Sometimes there was no questions asked, and the replacement piece was shipped out, no charge. It seemed to depend on which CS rep I got (and in all fairness, that has happened with Q as well, different solutions from different reps). So anything that their CS is saying, I will take with a grain of salt, and I will think twice before buying from them directly. Q, on the other hand, still has the 30 day no questions asked return and no return shipping charges if damaged/defective, so I will, for now limit my purchases to Q.

gkelley---

I started this thread, and I never have said or posted that I don't buy Temp-tations any more. I don't know how you made that one up. I have questioned whether or not I will be buying any or much in the future, but I think you need to get straight what you are saying before you put words in someone's mouth.

And your over exaggerating about 'So worried' and 'Load off of their shoulders' is a pitiful attempt at trying to make a simple post informing those who purchase TT that there are new policies in effect that may be different than they are used to, seem to be something inflammatory and hysterical, when in fact, it was simply stated to let others know about something that pertains to products people here purchase and collect.

I find it so incredibly odd that you and HH, who claim to have so few TT, are the be all and end all experts and defense attorneys on this product line. I would say that until you spend the thousands and thousands of dollars (and had many personal experiences with the customer service department at TT) some others who post here and on FB have, you probably aren't as "in the know" as you think you are.
