New Ninja Ultima TSV

I have had the Ninja 1100, an old Oster, and now a Vitamix. If I could absolutely not afford a Vitamix and didn't need all that power-I would consider the Ultima. However, if I could afford the Vitamix and thought, 'Oh, I'll save the money and get the Ultima', watch this video. They are not the same, and you are supporting American jobs with the Vitamix.

PS: I have personally no knowledge of this, but there is info on the internet that the Ninja contains lead. Again, I'm not saying this is true, but other people are saying it is. I would need to do more research. Maybe someone else can comment on that.

Very good YouTube video. Of course, it is biased towards Vitamix but still gives a good comparison. I presently have a Ninja which I use nearly daily, mostly for smoothies that a staple in my diet, but a Vitamix is on my wishlist - the cost is the only thing holding me back. But one day soon, I will have saved enough to get one. Until then, I will continue with my present Ninja.

Yes, the video was definitely biased towards Vitamix but you could see some differences that the Ninja infomercial does not show. Such as the blade housings. The thing that surprised me the most is the difference in the cord. The Vitamix has a heavy duty 3-prong cord. The Ninja has a light 2-prong cord. If they have similarly powered motors, I don't understand how the Ninja can get away with such a light-weight cord.

I'm guessing they have to cut the cost somewhere. I have an earlier ninja with the motor on top. I use it for onions and bread crumbs mostly. The base of the container has cracks on the bottom where the motor is. I wouldn't buy another just because of that.

BUYER BEWARE - The Ninja box even lists that the new Ultima Blender contains lead and that all users should take special precautions by washing your hands with each use. It's made in China and that is how they can get away with that.

Yes, as mentioned before by others, the tester is biased towards the Vitamix. However, the points demonstrated cannot be denied, especially what the Ninja folks place in the small print on the box and inside the box.

I was also hoping for a more affordable alternative to the Vitamix but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I have had Vitamix and Ninja...got rid of my Ninja MADE IN USA VITAMIX, yes!!! It has been around for years. You do get what you pay for...VITAMIX all the way!!!

I wasn't interested in this as I have a Blendtec and a Ninja Storm (for smaller jobs). But now I wonder if the Ninja Storm contains lead. Anyone know?

It would say it on the box. According to the video link above, it clearly states the TSV contains lead somewhere in the construction and also advises the user to wash his/her hands after using it each time.

I'm curious to see if QVC ships this in a plain brown box so that the warning would not be known.
