Let us know how your bread turns out. DH needs to make some more before we run out.
Yum. Love fresh homemade bread. I always want to eat it hot out of the oven. DH says I have to let it cool.
Yesterday I baked two loaves of whole wheat bread. The first on was taken out and baked in the oven, that worked fine, the second I let it go till the end, and that worked too, Now I need to freeze all that, but I am trying my hardest to know how to knead my Health bread in there. I halved the recipe, I must have gotten too much flour in it, it's really stiff, I have it rising now, soon to be put in the bread pan. I am thinking, it's heavier because I also have oatmeal, bran, raisins in it besides the flour, whole wheat and bread flour. In my recipe which I've done for years, is putting boiling water over the oatmeal, wheat bran, raisins, oil, and waiting for it to cool a bit before putting the blackstrap mossasses and yeast in. Then the cup of whole wheat flour and the rest bread flour. I am thinking that first, soaking the oatmeal etc. and then put it in the bread maker to knead with the flour, that would work better. I would put all in with the liquid except flour, add that after everything is in, and just knead it.
Hope that will work.

Today I made a couple more loaves of bread, my Health bread. It turned out! Both I just used the kneader and baked it in the pan.

Hi again, I now got a new Bread Machine Cookbook from my husband for my birthday, along with the breadmaker. I love it!! I made a cracked wheat bread in it yesterday, just having it knead it and I did the rest. It sure kneads it fast and great!! Every bread I make in there to knead turns out great!!!!

@gloriajean So glad you're enjoying your bread machine. You might be interested in checking out the King Arthur flour website for recipes. I just made an oatmeal bread that is soooo good.

Those machines are finnicky . When you make your own you can err on the side of ingredients and no big deal.
I just knead mine was still in the mixing bowl. always turns out great. Secret is the yeast. Platinum yeast only thing I'll buy. It's in the local stores now and I don't have to order online any more.
@SharkE I know you got up and checked, but it's Zojirushi! Crazy word to try to spell. Japanese, maybe?

I have had a Zojurshi. For 15 years, and it has made hundreds of loafs. Haven't really used iit for bread but a couple times last two years. But I have jams. I have made bread, cake, play dough, tortillas and jams. I have the top loader , not the one that bakes side to side? If that makes sense. You can time your own bread, or do mixes like from Bobs Red Mill. I have all 4 bread machine cook books from Donna Rathmel German, and I made my own from organic flours and such. I rarely had a flop ever. I would get one, and start with bread machine recipes from Donna rathmell German, then after a few go out on your own. If you are a bread baker by hand, like my daughter, it will come easy. After adjustments. Sorry for your arthritis, I too suffer and can't stand now without walker. But I can do this. lol. Good lick

@SharkE Rest assured it's not. The rice cookers and bread machines are made in Japan. I've had my Zo bread maker for at least 15 years and it makes amazing breads and doughs. I can't begin to calculate how many batches of roll and bread dough I've made. I would never buy another brand.
