I bought my yr old Meridith one at amazon because it's cheaper then the most recent one. Only had a few recipes I could use. I just want basics. I got another one ordered from a catalog that is on back order.

Check your library. Mine doesn't have any at all, so, I have to buy a couple

I reference Meredith's.  Haven't made a "full" recipe yet - just get an idea to get me thru the learning curve.

I'm rather disgusted with 'these special cookbooks".  Bought Meridith's Air Fry book..... and like her previous one that I bought - it's got basics like french fries, baked potatoes, etc., - and then over the top foods I would never make.  Advise - shop around for the cheapest price on these cookbooks.

So I guess I don't need an air fry cookbook just to learn how to cook in my new machine?

Re: Need air fry cookbook

[ Edited ]

basically, that's true. I went to Bed and Bath and checked out the stuff I wanted from their Phillips Air Fryer cookbook. I got a general idea on how long to cook salmon, burgers, fries, etc. Book cost 25 I found a corner and wrote down what I wanted out of it for free.

You got homemade fries, frozen fries, shoestring fries, etc. I'm in process of seeing what's right for us. Time it, take out drawer see how it looks if to raw, put back in and cook longer. Also, in the cookbook make note of temps suggested for different foods, although, on my NuWave it shows you what you should cook  , at what temp.

I just use my settings on my air fryer for most items and season like I would if I were frying or broiling, etc.  I cut it down to less time since I make a small portion and don't want items over-cooked.  I find now most recipe books aren't for me as I cook for one and can't have a lot of sweet sauces, etc.   I do love air frying and no failures so far.

I recommend Air Fryer Cookbook In The Kitchen by Allison Waggoner. It has over 200 recipes from breakfast to desserts. It cost like 18.99. Allison is a host on Evine, as well as a chef and author of several books. I don't know if its available on Amazon. I got mine at Evine.com but it is currently sold out.
