I think my set is Oneida that I purchased 11 years ago when the individual pieces were available at the grocery store.  I love them.  I keep them sharp with a Chef's Choice sharpener purchased from Bed Bath & Beyond.

I love my Cutco knives.  Their table knives are wonderful, and I use them every day.  I use them for steak and just about everything else.  The petite chef knife and 4" paring knife are my go to knives that I use all the time.

Thank you all.  You have given me some great suggestions and places to look into.

 

I have never bought knives.  My set was a wedding gift 25 years ago and I can't even find the namebrand on them.
