Need Suggestions for Personal Blender

I'm looiking for a suggestion for a personal blender to make smoothies in the am and protein shakes.  I don't need a big powerful blender as I already have a Vitamix but would like something smaller, but still powerful, that's more portable.  I know QVC had one this week but I wasn't sure since the reviews were not that good.  Any recommendations?  I had purchased an off brand from Amazon previously but it didn't blend fruit very well.  Also, not looking for something super expensive.

I'd like to get on the smoothies band wagon, but I'd like to find a recipe without a lot of sugar. Any suggestions?

I have a small blender by Ninja--it has a few different sized containers that comes with it. You can't take it with you and use it to mix anything up. It is corded--but it has a small footprint and is not that pricey--

@Group 5 minus 1 ---I don't have a recipe for smoothies altho there are tons of recipes online---I dump into my vitamix, mostly  greens and just 2 types of fruit with no added sugar at all, except from the fruit. I add unsweet protein powder, and use some coconut water, a little unsweet almond milk.I will use a banana --sweet on its own and then this time of year, I use mostly the berries that are in season. You can use frozen fruit too.

@patticakes.  You're 2 days late.  The just had the Blendjet as the TSV  day before yesterday.  Check and see if they're still listed.

Re: Need Suggestions for Personal Blender

I use a Nutribullet (corded) almost daily that has a to-go lid. It is several years old and still works well.

Typical morning smoothies include a few harder things like 3 cubes of ice, knob of ginger, various seeds (flax, hemp, chia) and a handful of frozen blueberries. No problem for the Nutribullet to handle.

It came with a couple size cups and is easy to clean. Good luck in your quest.

Re: Need Suggestions for Personal Blender

Personally, I don't think any of the personal blenders does a great job on fruit smoothies if you like them really smooth. They do better with just protein powder and a liquid. I've tried a lot of them and the Ninja Blast is probably the best one.

For me, the Vitamix does the best job for smoothies. I usually put in unsweetened almond milk, spinach, frozen fruit if not using ice, protein powder and some unsalted mixed nuts. I also have the personal adapter cup which works really well if I don't feel like using a container.

Thanks for the reply. I believe fruit has a lot of sugar. I think a diabetic serving for a banana is 1/2 a banana.

I have found a product by Chobani which is a liquid yogurt w/0 sugar. It is very tasty.

@nwbabs We have the original As Seen on TV Bullet.  Still works well although DH did replace a part recently.

Re: Need Suggestions for Personal Blender

I have a small Fochea personal blender that I bought on Amazon in 2016. It comes with a travel top and is just the right size to make a morning smoothie. It still runs great. I hope this helps.
